Does it earn a slot? Usually yes, if you're high Resourcefulness. The Magnum is the game's most common firearm — 6 rounds, strong headshots, standard issue for police officers and Dr. Loomis. Firearm damage scales with Resourcefulness, so the same revolver is a cannon in one hero's hands and a noisemaker in another's.
The rules of shooting Michael
- Never fire during an execution animation — he's completely immune. The most-wasted ammo in the game is spent on this exact mistake.
- Shots stagger, chip toward downs, and break pressure at range; headshots are where the Magnum earns its name.
- Guns are loud. Every shot is a position broadcast — see noise discipline.
Where guns fit the plan
Firearms support downs; they don't replace the arrest chain (cops detain, meters fill, hourglass pins). A Magnum-armed, high-Res civilian covering the fight is excellent; four civilians emptying revolvers into a tier-3 Michael is a fireworks show.
The hierarchy
Rifle (rare, highest damage, headshot downs) > Magnum (common, reliable) > shotgun (4 shells, widely rated weak). Pair any of them with the Resourcefulness stat, not just the willingness to shoot.

The rifle in Halloween: The Game — the top firearm: a clean headshot can down Michael outright and break a grab from across the street. Rare, poor up close.
