Do they earn a slot? One, on one player — the escort. Two healing items exist: the healing spray (partial heal, fast, usable on teammates) and the medkit (near-full heal, longer animation, also shareable). Both work; neither is the priority new players assume.

Why healing is overrated here

Most civilian deaths are grabs, not damage — a full health bar surrenders to a grab exactly as fast as a sliver does, which is why slot one belongs to a grab-escape knife, not a bandage. Health's real job is the injured state: hurt civilians move slower, and slower is catchable. Heal to fix your legs, not your pride.

Spray or medkit?

  • Spray: fast enough to use in contested moments; partial is usually plenty (small losses regenerate — window-dive damage under a quarter comes back on its own).
  • Medkit: the between-waves item; its animation is a commitment you make in a lit, locked room.
  • Both are shareable — which is the actual argument for carrying one: a designated healer patching the escort chain keeps the evacuation moving.

Notes

Spawn specifics and exact heal values are unread. If your slots are contested, remember the hierarchy: knife, exit item, then flex — healing competes for flex.
