Confirmed at last — our earlier entry honestly said "existence unverified," and the v2 research settled it: the flashlight is real, every police officer carries one (Dr. Loomis too), and it's a weapon, not a lamp: aim it at Michael to blind progressively, which stuns him and slows him heavily.

How the blind works

It's progressive — sustained beam-on-face, not a flick. Hold the light on him and the stun builds; break contact and you're starting over. That makes the flashlight a duo tool: one player blinds, another acts (rescues, arrest-meter work, the escape push).

The battery

Limited, and it can run dry mid-match. Spare batteries exist as pickups but are widely considered not worth an inventory slot — the consensus is to spend the light you have on moments that matter and let the battery die with dignity. Reported

Who should carry it

Returned players get one free (cops and Loomis spawn with them). For living civilians the slot math is tight: the flare gun blinds harder per use and pays the police meter too. Take the flashlight when it's found luck, not planned loadout — then use it like the stun weapon it secretly is.
